In 2011, I proved that I can stick with a new eating plan and be healthier than I have been in years. I went from 317 down to 283 and fit into size 26 jeans. I completed a 5k for the first time ever, with a time of 65:56. I quit smoking for 2 months, which is where I gained the weight back. I was motivated and focused, energetic and happy. I'm getting that all back this year and hanging onto it until my last breath.
My name is Misty and, starting today, I follow the South Beach Diet. In this blog I will share achievements and failures, goals and milestones. I will be in-your-face blunt with the possibility of some colorful language, so if you're against swearing this isn't the blog for you to follow. For too long I have justified not sticking to a healthier eating plan and it stops here. I have beaten and abused my body with junk food for many years, and for the last 3 years it's been hitting back. Those who know me know that I don't back off from a fight and I'm not about to start now.
So here's to you 2012, and here's to me because I'm worth it.
